Fiona Evans
Fiona Evans (Clarke) is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music where she studied singing. She worked with The Sixteen for over ten years and as an ad hoc singer with BBC Singers and other groups including Gabrieli Consort, Tallis Scholars and The Cardinall's Musick.
Fiona has been working as a choir director for over 15 years, was MD of Salisbury Community Choir for 10 years taking them from a membership of 22 to over 200 and touring Germany, Paris, Poland and South Africa where they performed the African premiere of Karl Jenkins' The Armed Man in a project Archbishop Desmond Tutu entitled 'A Rainbow choir for a Rainbow Nation'.
Fiona now runs a ladies choir in Salisbury (Babes and Ballads), a Coffee Choir at Salisbury Playhouse and a men's only choir Guys no Dolls, again in Salisbury. Details about all of these groups can be found on www.babesandballads.com
Inspiring timid singers to let loose their often dormant voices is what Fiona loves best and she now also runs a choir based in Beer, Devon Seriously Occasional Singers. Information on this group can be found on www.seriouslyoccasionalsingers.co.uk
Fiona also teaches singing in and around the Salisbury area. Her work as a workshop leader has led to her being in demand up and down the country.
