Hello! After several years working as a freelance musician in Edinburgh, I will be based in Glasgow from 2013.

I enjoy a busy career which combines composing, performing and teaching work.

I studied at the City of Edinburgh Music School and I learned to play harp from Sophie Askew, Isobel Mieras and Savourna Stevenson. I then went on to study for a degree in Music Composition (First Class BA Hons), at Dartington College of Arts. I moved back to Edinburgh in 2008, where I completed a Mmus in Composition at Edinburgh University with Nigel Osborne.

I have a particular interest in writing new music/arranging for the small harp, and have worked professionally on composition projects for theatre and film. Please contact me if this is something you would like to explore.

I really enjoy teaching and have experience teaching all ages and abilities in both group and individual situations. I am on the visting music staff at George Watson's College and Cargilfield Prep School, Edinburgh and have taught workshops for organisations such as The Clarsach Society, The Edinburgh International Harp Festival, RSAMD and the Feisean Nan Gaidheal Organisation. I can teach aurally, or with written notation as suits. I have a 100% pass rate with Trinity Guildhall/ABRSM exams from Grade 1-8, and the vast majority of my pupils have passed with merit or distinction.

Please get in touch, if you have any questions about learning the harp!
