About Me:

I am a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music.

I am a member of 'Live Music Now!', which is an educational program which enables me to work closely with the elderly, and special needs children across the UK.

I have been fortunate enough to perform in some of the UK's top venues including Royal festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Bridgewater Hall.

I have a CRB disclosure, am very approachable, and create a very fun and productive teaching atmosphere.

Teaching Experience:

Through my study at the RNCM, and since finishing, I have taught privately, through Sixth Form Colleges, and through specialist music schools. Establishments I have taught at include 'Rhythm Foundry' Music School in Stoke-on-Trent, Xavarian College in Manchester and 'The Music Place' in Altrincham.

I am a very active member of 'Live Music Now!' enabling me to work with the elderly, and disabled children on a regular basis across the UK. This work ranges from putting on highly interactive concerts to speaking about the instrument, and teaching both small groups and individuals regularly.

Through Live music now I have taken the post as Team Leader for a combined educational project between "Live music Now!" Oldham Music Service, and North Chadderton Lower School.

My Approach To Music Tuition:

I create a very relaxed and fun atmosphere when teaching. Students that I tutor have a high level of success when it comes to ABRSM grade exams, and I feel that this is down to both the hard work of the students, and the encouragement I provide in lessons.

I have been very fortunate to have been taught by some of the UK's top saxophonists and musicians throughout my musical training, and feel that this has given me valuable insight into some very different styles of teaching. I draw upon all of these different teaching styles to help my students progress at a good rate, and more importantly, in the correct way.

I use both published books such as 'Abracadabra Saxophone' and a collection of material that I have personally created to allow for a very individual and effective teaching program.

I genuinely do believe that it is never too late to learn, and that no matter how good you are, there is always something you can improve.

Saturday Saxophones:

Alongside Jennifer Palfreyman I run a small independant music school called 'Saturday Saxophones'.

At Saturday Saxophones we offer tuition on Saxophone Clarinet, Flute, Music Theory, Composition, and Arranging.
