I have taught Italian as a foreign language for 6 months after my graduation in Italy and I found the experience of teaching as one of the most inspiring and rewarding I have ever had. My classes were attended by a large number of students. Many of them were applicants of the erasmus program, but it also happened to teach to immigrants and occasionally to have some 1to1 lesson.
