Hello parents and students. My name is Hannah Barnes, a 33 year old teacher with 9 years' experience in further education.

I began teaching in the Further Education sector in 2011 in the scientific fields of Sport and Exercise Science. During my time, I branched out into A-Level PE, all BTEC Sport Science courses, Coaching and Outdoor Education routes, completing my sports teaching with NCFE Football Coaching and NVQ Personal Training.

My original subject knowledge centred upon the scientific disciplines within the subject, i.e. biology, maths, biomechanics, nutrition, psychology etc. but, since this time, I have also taught in the New Zealand education system where I transitioned into teaching Mathematics. Here, I taught all age groups from primary through to seniors and completed this teaching alongside junior English and ESL for overseas students, parents and adults alike in a private tutoring company. I also aided several adults to complete their maths qualifications that were required for employment, apprenticeship and public service purposes.

In conjunction with these areas, I would also be able to aid essay writing, punctuation and grammar, proof reading, practical sports coaching, biology, physiology and any subject matter that falls under the 'science' aspect of Sport Science. If your little ones (and not-so-little ones), need assistance with their school maths, essay writing, understanding the mind and body, improving their practical sports skills or simply brushing up on their English language in a fun and friendly learning environment, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
