Experience

Helen E. Conway - Centre Director

Helen is a recognised presenter, educator and consultant in the Pilates method and functional movement techniques. She has taught in the fitness industry for over 20 years, including almost 3 years spent in London, first working at The Pilates Institute, then as a Pilates instructor within many of the top city health clubs as well as personal trainer to many corporate clients and high profile clients such as the actor George Segal.
Opening her first studio in 2002, Helen set the standard of studio that others had to follow. Quality equipment, knowledgeable instructors and a calming, appropriate environment meant that anyone who walked through the door knew that all aspects of a professional studio had been thought of and applied.
Helens' thorough application of the Pilates technique and her fun and informative style makes the system easily understood by everyone. As a 'teacher to the teachers' and previously as course tutor at West Cheshire College for OCR Pilates Instructor Training, she presents workshops for instructors that raise industry standards by improving personal knowledge and teaching techniques.
Helen specialises in Pilates for Pregnancy and Back Rehabilitation. Having initially trained with Micheal King and the Pilates Institute, she is honoured to have had the opportunity to gain on-going knowledge from other instructors/Pilates training organisations such as Liz Bussey, Judith Aston, Paul Fox, Monica Linford and Lyn Robinson. Helen also teaches Hatha and Yin yoga, having completed 3 years training with the British Wheel of Yoga and most recently, Yin yoga training with world renowned Californian yoga teacher, Erin Fleming.

Helens classes are fun, informative and anatomically led. She is passionate about educating clients so that they have the knowledge to access their own ability safely and appropriately, and to be able to recognise limitations, allowing them to recognise risky movement patterns and modify both in class and in life.
