Character Class - Drawing
You will be advised in how to get started and have a brief refresher in the fundamentals behind portraiture.
In the class we will be exploring how portraiture relates to both caricatures and characters. The class is designed to be fun and exploratory. However if you have had previous experience drawing portraits you may find caricatures easier to grasp than people who have had no prior experience. If you did want to have a go at drawing caricatures rather than characters it is advisable to bring a reference of someone with unique and recognisable features (for example - Obama, Bill Clinton, The Beatles, Bruce Willis, Rocky etc...). Alternatively you may wish to create your own characters.
Please bring with you a rubber, sharper, pencils and either pastels pencils or charcoal sticks if you would like to work in these mediums. A choice of either a murona sheet of paper or cartridge paper will be provided. If you would like to take notes please bring a notebook with you also.
