I started playing bass at the age of 12. I hold a grade 8 in electric bass and a Professional Diploma in Music Performance from the Brighton Institute of Modern Music. I have worked with a number of artists as a session musician, I have been on radio and my playing can be heard on albums by Carrie Tree, Simon Scardanelli, Cordelia Gartside and others.

I have a PGCE in Music that qualifies for teaching in secondary schools up to A level standard and for a couple of years I have taught in schools in the south of England.

I started teaching electric bass privately in 2004. I currently live in Brighton and work exclusively as a private teacher and performing musician.I

I can teach both electric bass (all levels of ability) and double bass (beginners and intermediate players). I aim to cover all aspects of playing, technique, theory and sight-reading. I chose to use the RGT teaching resources with all my students as the material covers so many areas of playing comprehensively. I add songs to this syllabus and I encourage students to choose material as well.

I teach at home where I have access to good resources that allow me to provide backing tracks, recordings of lessons and printed resources. I can travel short distances from Brighton.
