Vocal masterclass

Our approach is based on one basic tenet: your body is your instrument. If one’s body is not connected with your voice, this can lead to an undesirable vocal quality and long term damage.

In the first stages of the masterclass we will cover basic singing technique, including diaphragmatic breathing, breath control and body management. Our approach encompasses research into the Alexander Technique and the natural use of one’s body.

The next stage is putting support into your voice, using the body to create the sound. Body muscles are engaged in producing your vocal quality, and we look into establishing vocal stamina.

We will then work on other key aspects of musicianship: rhythm, tempo, melody and vocal harmonisation. We will focus our learning into the memorisation and performance of three pop songs that are of the group’s choosing.
