My own experience of music teachers led me to believe that a genuine love of music, good communication and above all an encouraging attitude is what makes tuition lively and effective.

My lessons focus on encouragement & fun. I've taken people through ABRSM exams and am happy to do so, but the most satisfying moment for me as a teacher is to see a pupil enjoy their sound, and the experience of making music.

I teach any age group - age 10+ - absolute beginners up to around grade 5 level. I teach from my home in Belper where I have a dedicated music room ideal for lessons.

I'm also a professional artist and singer, and run singing workshops with acapella singing trio Red Ruff.
