Jim has been teaching for the past 12 years. As a young musician Jim had the opportunity to participate in many large and small local groups. Including Jazz ensembles (Mount Royal: Instructor Gary Debouke, U of C: instructor Warren Rowley), classical concert (with such conductors as Denis Prime) and percussion ensembles (U of C: instructor Bob Berg). During this period he had the good fortune to participate in youth programs at the U of A under the tutelage of Tommy Banks, Bob Stoup, Murry Smith, Kent Sangster and Dominic Spera.
