Based at the Grange, a combat sports and events centre in the Midlands, i teach 14th century european martial arts based on the manuscripts of Fiore Dei'Liberi. Including his unarmed combat system, defence against knife attacks and the use of the sword. The school is a member of the BFHS.

Group Classes

Bartitsu (the martial art of Sherlock Holmes)

Weekly class teaching Victorian self defence and martial arts skills. Bartitsu was the first recognised MMA, created in London at the end of the 1800's. Combining English Pugilism (bare knuckle boxing), French Savat (street fighting with a strong reliance on kicks), JuJitsu and LeCanne (a system for using the walking stick as a weapon).
Classes are based directly on the original Bartitsu Club syllabus.

It is the martial art that Sherlock Holmes was described as a student of, and the art that he used to defeat Moriarty in their final battle.

Spada (Medieval longsword)

Class dedicated to the study of European armed martial arts, including the use of the hand and half sword, single handed sword and the spear.
The class focuses on the martial system of Fiore with all techniques taken straight from the historical manuscripts.

Abrazare & Daga (unarmed combat & knife defence)

Weekly class teaching the unarmed combat and knife defence skills used in medieval europe. This is a complete martial art system taken from the historical manuscripts of the time.
