I work as a freelance musician and teacher and have been teaching the piano for 20 years. I try to be flexible in my approach and respond to the particular interests and needs of each pupil. Most of my pupils learn classical piano though I'm happy to explore others styles, for example jazz using the ABRSM jazz syllabus. Many of my pupils take grade exams from time to time though this is not essential. I arrange informal concerts once or twice a year which give pupils the opportunity to play to a friendly audience of family and friends. I can also teach the organ (the kind usually found in churches). I'm happy to teach adults or children.

My other musical interests include accompanying - I work regularly with a number of local choirs as an accompanist - and church music. I have also recently qualified as a music therapist.
