Karen Harris
Karen has trained with the Breathworks organisation based in Manchester to deliver Mindfulness for Health courses, teaching compassionate mindfulness techniques to those living with long term health problems, chronic pain and stress. After many years working as a registered nurse within the NHS, Karen found mindfulness herself when dealing with her own health issues. It transformed her attitude to her health and she became committed to sharing the information with others in order to empower them to take charge of their own health and improve their sense of well being. The eight week course teaches mindful meditation practices, activity diaries and analysis and pacing guidance. Karen will speak to each course participant prior to starting the course to ensure it will be of benefit to them. Karen sees people on a one to one basis if this is preferable and the client can choose to be seen at home if mobility or health issues cause a problem. Karen is happy to discuss the needs of those wishing to learn mindfulness practices and meditations. She also runs a meditation group to support those wishing to develop their practice on the first and third Mondays of the month at my central Taunton therapy room.

Mindfulness for Health Course, Bishops Hull, Taunton
This is an eight week Mindfulness for Health course teaching how we can use mindfulness in daily life to improve our quality of life and sense of well being. It is aimed at those living with long term health conditions, such as ME, fibromyalgia, arthritis, diabetes, eczema and psoriasis, as well as those who suffer chronic pain. Mindfulness has also been proven to help those living with stress to better deal with difficult situations. We look at our usual habits and, through the use of activity diaries, we analysise our habits and develop pacing guidelines to help us improve our life experiences. There are a limited number of spaces on each course for those in receipt of benefits or on low wages, please contact me for further details of this.
