I have grade 8 violin (Distinction), Grade 8 Piano (Merit), and Grade 8 Music Theory (Distinction). I gained my music degree in 1987 from the Birmingham Conservatiore of Music and have been teaching ever since, in the UK and abroad.(I taught in Iceland for 6 months in a boarding school in 1990).
My pupils range from beginners to advanced, from four years to adults. I have taught both groups and individuals, in schools and privately from home. At present I teach from home in Rotherham. Pupils can learn in small groups (2 or 3) or individually. I only charge for the time (£10 per half hour/£20 per hour)and lessons can be weekly, fortnightly or monthly to suit. I also provide piano accompaniment for exams. I use the ABRSM and LCM examining boards. I teach Viola - An instrument with an amazing string sound that most people don't know anything about. A great alternative to the violin. Also, I teach Recorder up to Grade 5 ABRSM exam standard.(did you know that you can do exams 1-8 on the Recorder?). A teach Keyboard to suit each individual's needs.
Do you need your Grade 5 Music theory exam before continuing with instrumental exams? I teach Theory up to and including Grade 8 ABRSM having taken it myself in 1984.
I teach Folk Fiddle music from all genres including Irish, British, Eastern European. If you have a favourite tune that you can't find, I can write it down for you and format into a Sibelius Musical Score.

Aimed at: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
