I teach French Horn, Tenor Horn, Trumpet, Cornet, Baritone and Euphonium to all ages (including adults) and abilities. I love playing and my pupils enjoy learning with me.

I am in my third year of a Bmus(hons) in Horn at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. I have Grade 8 distinction and an ABRSM Diploma in French Horn. I have been teaching for over 4 years and really enjoy every minute of it.

I have over four years teaching experience with students aged 6 to 30+ and from beginners to grade 8+ and I am happy to take any age or ability. I have also led a community wind band for children as both conductor and organiser.

I am an experienced orchestral player and solo performer, I have performed a solo concerto with Sir Colin Davis at the Barbican Hall, as well as performing in many other orchestras, such as the Young Musicians European Orchestra (Principal) 2011, Guildhall Symphony Orchestra (Principal) 2011, National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain 2008 - 2009, University of London Symphony orchestra (Joint Principal) 2009- current, London Arts Orchestra (Joint Principal) 2011, London Arts Chamber Orchestra (Principal) 2012 and many others.

How much do I charge?

Personal experience as a teacher

I have been teaching for over four years and in that time I have taught tenor horn, cornet, trumpet, euphonium, baritone and French horn. My pupils’ ages have ranged from 6 to 30, and I welcome any age or ability. I hope to promote a real sense of musical awareness and musicality, I began learning music in a community environment so I like my pupils to enjoy making music with other people, even if it is only by playing duets in our lesson. I love making music and I hope to inspire that in my pupils, which is motivating and enriching. I have experience teaching children with dyslexia.

I started tutoring very young as part of a community wind band. My first teacher was one of the older members of the band, and as I grew and improved I started to teach the younger members of the group. This community feeling inspired me to teach more, and I found that although it was a bit scary at first I really enjoyed sharing my knowledge. I think this environment fostered a love of learning that I really like to bring to my own teaching. Now that I have moved to London to study I no longer teach members of that band, but what I learnt there will always stay with me and I think it still inspires me with my pupils today.
