Lindsay Dow
I am a friendly, approachable person with many years of language learning experience so I know myself how hard it can feel at times when learning a language.
I believe that rows and rows of vocab are not only monotonous but also repetitive, and dare I say it, boring!
There are many more fun and varied ways to teach and learn a language. It`s important to remember that each student has different learning styles and what works with one brilliantly, may go straight over another`s head! However, a positive and energetic approach is always necessary.

Experience
Self-Employed Language Tutor
I currently teach French, Spanish and English as a second language to students of all ages and abilities.
Tuition is offered privately one-on-one in your home or via Skype. I am also happy to tutor small groups and offer corporate English tuition to employers with a high percentage of staff with English as a second language.
Learning Support Assistant
My work as a Learning Support Assistant was often within the Language Department of a local secondary school. I would assist students within lessons and occassionally take them out and teach them one-on-one or in a small group.
Voluntary TEFL Teacher
I voluntarily taught English as a second language to local adults to give them better employment prospects and aid their integration into society.
Voluntary TEFL Teacher
I voluntarily taught English at a school in rural Costa Rica for 3 months. The work involved teaching students aged 3 to 16 using a variety of techniques and styles, often with limited resources.
