Stress - distress - and pain can often get in the way of living life to the full. All we experience happens moment by moment, but rather than living one moment at a time, we sometimes increase our distress by trying to live in the past or the future. Mindfulness is about seeing the big picture of our life as it unfolds. Mindful moments are the ones where we’re more present, when we have a sense of being ‘right here, right now’, with whatever we are doing, whatever we are feeling.

I began practising meditation and yoga in the early 1980s, and for many years taught at Buddhist Centres in London and Bristol. The way I teach Mindfulness now is straightforward and non-religious - which makes it more accessible to more people. I have seen this approach help people with stress, chronic pain, depression and anxiety - as well as those simply interested in developing awareness of the richness of life. As well as group training, I also tutor individuals in personal one-to-one sessions and distance learning.

I have trained with Bangor University, Exeter University, and Breathworks, and I'm accredited with the British Association for Mindfulness-Based Approaches. I also offer supervision for mindfulness teachers through Mindfulness Network.

Mindfulness (MBCT/MBSR) for Stress & Low Mood

Mindfulness (MBCT/MBSR) for Stress and Low Mood

Eight-session mindfulness course helpful for those whose quality of life is affected by stress, anxiety or depression. Learn to experience each moment of life in ways that bring you more clarity, calm and kindness.

Mindfulness is enormously useful if you have a tendency to get stuck in ways of thinking and behaving that engender distress. Regular practice supports long-term changes in how you approach life, enhancing mood and general wellbeing.

The sessions include:
• mindfulness meditations
• body awareness
• gentle stretching & movement
• group discussion

Audio guidance for each practice will help you practise at home between our online meetings, and I support you to practise simple everyday activities with more awareness. Before we start, we'll have a preliminary one-to-one discussion to clarify any questions you have and whether this is the right course and the right time for you. You don’t need previous meditation experience, and the course is entirely non-religious and secular. The cost includes a weekend morning online retreat and ongoing ‘phone support during the course.

We limit the number of places to ensure personal attention. We also teach the course one-to-one, either in person or by distance learning. Contact me for more details on 01752 405173, [email protected], or see our website
