I’ve been playing violin for over ten years. I started in competitions and went through the ABRSM grades, to advanced grade 8. I then chose to teach my friends and family and eventually branched out to a select few individuals.
My biggest hurdle when I was competing and playing was that I learnt the wrong technique which ultimately held me back. I would like to offer what I learnt about technique to individuals starting out on their violin journey.
My lessons are geared to younger violinists, in the beginning stages of their musical development, but equally, I have experience teaching adults these same skills.
These lessons are provided through skype.
My lessons will focus on muscle memory exercises, recognising tension, breathing and bow placement for beginners to grade 2.
I believe you can play a tune, even if you cannot read music, and the lessons I teach are practically based in that theory.
Covers: Muscle-memory based tension relieving exercises, music theory grades one and two. Practical exercises, and conditioning the body to “remember” playing techniques.
I will plan, and tailor individual lessons, working to your strengths, and mapping out how to tackle hurdles in a fun and creative way!
Thanks for reading!
