Experience

Teacher CPD Masterclass Verse Speaking

The first Poetry recital CPD workshop with teachers working with years 10-13 as part of the National poetry recital competition Poetry By Heart. Exploring meaning and rhythm through oral practice across the poetry anthology timeline. Exploring strategies for memorisation, vocal creativity and expression, projection and audience engagement for use throughout the rehearsal and academic process, in public performance heats and in judging the final public performance competition.

This was the first Masterclass of this onging initiative, preparing teachers to prepare learners in years 10-13 for this new annual competition celebrating poetry across the ages, in the spoken form.
