Welcome to the West London branch of the UK Wing Chun Kung Fu Association, one of the UK's leading martial arts organisations for over 25 years.

We are proud to be able to welcome you to our new, purpose built martial arts studio in Fulham, which is fully air conditioned and mirrored, and contains all of the training facilities and features you will need in your martial arts training. Our new school even contains a rooftop training area, which aficionados will know played a large part in the development of Wing Chun Kung Fu in Hong Kong in the 50's, 60's and 70's. We are one of the few Wing Chun schools anywhere to offer such a facility, so if you fancy some traditional Yip Man era style training during the summer months, please come down.

Chief Instructor Nick Rodgers has over a decade's experience training under the legendary Sifu Mark Phillips of the London Wing Chun Academy. Nick's ability and passion for Wing Chun comes from a deep appreciation of the art and his guidance will ensure a perfect start to your Wing Chun journey.

Our association has been established for over 25 years now, and offers a wealth of expertise and support to those looking to begin their martial arts journey, or just wanting to learn to defend themselves.

What is Wing Chun?

Wing Chun is a southern Chinese style of Kung Fu which is around 300 years old. It is famous for having been studied by Bruce Lee among other well known film stars and martial artists. In recent years it has continued to be popularised by one of todays biggest martial arts film franchises, the 'Ip Man' series of movies.

Wing Chun is well known in the martial arts world for focusing on the use of speed and efficiency to overcome opponents, and the ability to absorb and deflect a stronger or larger foe's advances rather than try to resist them or fight strength with strength. The rather cliched phrase of 'using someones strength against them' sums up these ideas pretty well.

Though at times Wing Chun can be hard and powerful, having been created by a woman it can also be soft and therefore is ideal for ladies or for men who are perhaps short and slight of frame. Furthermore, not being the largest of men myself, I have developed a unique insight into how people of smaller stature can defend themselves against bigger and stronger aggressors. This knowledge can prove particularly useful in self-defence scenarios and artistic ones alike. Having said all this Wing Chun will prove deeply rewarding and very effective for students of any build, providing they train conscientiously.

We have several classes a week in our Fulham school. Please check our website for a comprehensive timetable.
