Nina Danon
I am a franco-italian composer, pianist and audio-visual artist.
I regard music as something that can be experienced through all senses, and collaborate with artists from all disciplines to establish new connections between their creative processes and redefine the relationship between music and other forms of art.
My teaching philosophy reflects this idea, and I incorporate my research findings into my methods to develop a multi-sensorial approach to music education.
I graduated in classical piano from the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia of Rome, and later moved to Berlin to work for film composer and artist Henning Lohner from Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions, arranging and recording music for films and television.
Since 2012, I live and work in London, where I completed a Master of Music in Sonic Arts at Goldsmiths College, with a research focus on how the perception of motion in sounds and paintings can transmit emotions.
In recent years, my music has been commissioned by the United Nations University, Leighton House Museum, the Museum of Oriental Art of Turin, The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and TEDx events.
As a pianist, I have been collaborating with world-renowned musicians, including vibraphonist David Friedman and composer Matthias Sayer, recording in prestigious studios in Germany and in the UK and performing with the Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg.
I am member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians, and hold an up-to-date DBS check and Paediatric First Aid certificate.
