I make wine at home. When I started, I wish I'd had a guide to show me the practical techniques. Wine making at home is easy and a really pleasurable past-time. You can make impressively drinkable wine for less than £2 per bottle following a one-off investment in equipment of between £50-£75.

Over a five week course (an hour long evening lesson per week), I can show you the complete process first hand in domestic surroundings similar to your own. The course covers kit wines and 'country' wines. Kit wines use grape juice (from named varieties of grape such as Rioja or Sauvignon, for example) and include all the ingredients you need (but not the equipment). 'Country' wines are typically made from fruit, but also from flowers such as elderflower, berries and vegetables. I'll show you the equipment you need to use, and how to use it, and will advise on where to get the equipment and ingredients.

You'll be able to taste some of our wines to get an idea of the quality that you can produce at home.
