What is Hilal Dance?

It is a contemporary egyptian dance, developed by Suraya Hilal and Alessandro Bascioni.

It is an Arab/African/Egyptian art form that features relaxing bodywork.

A holistic approach to movement.

Scope to improve flexibility and coordination.

Learn intricacies of new musics and old.

Learn to interprete and express the music through dance.

I have been dancing Egyptian Dance for over 20 years and as an experienced dancer, I am still learning and sharing what I know and understand.

My classes are a supportive space for you to enjoy and grow into an independant confident dancer or to develop you own ideas and means for expression.

We will be covering the following areas in movement and dance.

Deep and relaxing warmup including the wave and breath work
Warm up to earthy drum rhythms and taqasims
Use of folk music to establish the key movements of pendulum, scissor and spiral
Integrating smooth movements with flow and good posture
Interpretation of Folk and Baladi
Expression of the music and and presentation

Cost: £96 for 8 classes

Concessions rate: On application
