Peter Barrett

Over 25 years' teaching experience as Head of Music in several Kent secondary schools and part-time instrumental teacher with Kent Music School & Canterbury Christ Church University.
Qualifications include: GBSM (Hons), PGCE, L.Mus LCM, ABSM, A.Mus LCM.
First composition published by EMI at the age of 14 years. First diploma (London College of Music)awarded at the age of 17 years.
Studied at Birmingham Conservatoire (formerly Birmingham School of Music), University of Reading & London College of Music.
During the late 1980s & early 1990s, Peter worked as a songwriter with the Swedish pop group Troll whose single & album 'Jimmy Dean' reached number one in Sweden & Finland and made the top ten in other European countries. His music is regularly performed on radio stations in Norway & Denmark.
Over the last few years, Peter has written several pieces for local school children to perform at their annual Christmas carol services at Canterbury Cathedral.
He is now Director of Music at All Music (Whitstable).
