I run a dance centre The Dance Workshop - in Birmingham which I started because I'm particularly interested in teaching dance to everyone not just dancers, and also in being able to teach in an environment that is friendly and treats students as individuals.
As a teacher my aim is to be progressive in my teaching - always learning and being open to new ideas while remaining respectful of the traditions I have learned from. As the director of the centre my aim is to provide high standard classes in subjects with teachers who are not only professional but really want to share their dance with others and share some connection with my own priciples. There are all sorts of classes at the centre from Capoeira to Ballroom. The classes I teach personally are traditional Egyptian Raqs sharqi, Cuban Salsa, Classical Ballet, Tap, and Pilates.
