My Passion:

My passion in life is learning about the mystery of human potential and the experience of life as a whole. Having travelled extensively and having lived in many countries I have come across many richly diverse cultures. I find that this experience has opened my mind and helped me expand not only my personal horizons but also my sense of interconnectedness with others. In terms of the mindfulness work I do, I see my role mainly as a facilitator and enjoy supporting others in their efforts to regain, as well as maintain a state of balance and mental wellbeing.

My qualifications:

I am a professional mindfulness consultant, trainer, coach and speaker. I practice Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Stress Reduction as well as life coaching. I gained the following qualifications:

Mindfulness Training: A five year residency at the Nan Hua Buddhist Monastery (South Africa)
One year fulltime Certificate in Buddhist Studies and Mindfulness Practice (South Africa)
Train the Trainer Certificate, Dorset Mental Health Forum
Bachelors Degree (Spiritual Psychology & Wellbeing related) (USA)
Diploma in Professional Hypnotherapy (UK)
General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (UK)
Certificate in Traditional Japanese Jikiden Healing (Japan)
Certificate in Personal Coaching, LONDON
Other NHS certificates related to mental health.

I took part in a three year course of personal psychotherapy as part of my personal and professional development
and also took part in a one-day, three-day and seven-day mindfulness based Zen style residential retreats.

I also have an avid interest in languages and speak Polish, Afrikaans and basic Mandarin Chinese and currently work within the mental health field for the NHS where I facilitate a weekly Mindfulness Based Recovery Support group.

I am CRB checked, and fully insured. I am committed to CPD (Continuous Professional Development) to ensure that I am always up to date with the latest in scientific research. I also receive clinical and peer mindfulness supervision as part of my professional development.

I am registered with the National Counselling Society and work within their Code of Ethics. I am also registered as a teacher of mindfulness on the “ Be Mindful “ website managed by the Mental Health Foundation. Besides this I am also a Peer Specialist Trainer with the Dorset Mental Health Forum and present mindfulness workshops for the Recovery Education Centre.

Group Classes

Dorset Mindfulness Practice Group

Learn mindfulness in a safe, non judgemental and mutually supportive environment. Share your experience and practice challenges with other like minded individuals. Explore mindfulness and learn tips for daily living through story telling, music meditation, Chinese tea drinking and discussion.

Mindfulness is a particular way of paying attention: with mindful intention, in the moment, without judgement.

Sometimes in life, we feel isolated and are faced with worrying situations and difficulties. In an attem
pt to make sense of these difficulties we often and naturally so, experience fear, stress and sadness. At times we get stuck in these reactive states of mind and need some support in moving forward. Mindfulness based training is an ancient approach applicable to modern day living. It is an approach rooted in non-judgementally befriending our situation with more understanding, openness, acceptance and skill. Through this befriending we give ourselves an opportunity to foster a more positive and meaningful relationship with our situation, our very own lives and our community.

Doing this can sometimes help us move forward.

Facilitated by Robert Gebka, a former Zen Buddhist monk, mindfulness consultant & director of the Dorset Mindfulness Centre.
