Musical Director & Orchestrator

Robert has been Musical Director for Studio Six Productions, Vocalese Cabaret, The Mellow Dramatics, New Era Light Opera Company and South Staffs Musical Theatre Company. Shows include: Footloose, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Kiss Me Kate, Hello Dolly!, Just So, The Mikado, HMS Pinafore, Return To The Forbidden Planet, Oliver! The Witches of Eastwick, Bad Girls, 9 to 5 the Musical, The Addams Family, Spamalot. He has also orchestrated music for numerous shows including: Liberation Day 2007 and 2008 (South Derbyshire County Council); Cole, Cabaret & Cocktails (Vocalese Cabaret); Gourmet Royale (Studio Six Productions); Musical Memoirs (Tamworth Arts Club); Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (The Mellow Dramatics); Hit, Flicks and Broadway (Tamworth Arts Club).

Trumpeter

Robert received trumpet lessons from Andy Stone-Fewings at Birmingham Conservatoire then successfully completed a BA (Hons) degree reading music with instrumental and vocal teaching at University of Chichester. Here he studied trumpet with Fraser Tannock and Paul Sharp, conducting and orchestration with Dominic Nunns and Crispin Ward.

As an orchestral player, Robert has played with the High Peak Orchestra, Derby Concert Orchestra, Derby Choral Union Orchestra, Staffordshire Festival Orchestra, Chichester Symphony Orchestra, The Edwin James Festival Orchestra, Lichfield Sinfonia, Solihull Symphony Orchestra, Central England Ensemble, Musique-Cordiale Concert Orchestra and Opera Orchestra.

Theatre work includes: Tamworth Assembly Rooms (Tamworth Arts Club); The Brewhouse Arts Centre, Burton on Trent (New Era Light Opera Company, Mellow Dramatics & Little Theatre Company); Minerva Theatre, Chichester (Chichester Amateur Operatic Society); The Alexander Theatre, Bognor Regis (Bognor Regis Operatic Society); Lichfield Garrick (Walsall Operatic Society & Lichfield Youth Theatre); Stafford Gatehouse Theatre; Derby Guildhall; Derby Theatre, Buxton Opera House; Wolverhampton Grand Theatre; Stoke Rep; Little Theatre Leicester; Century Theatre; Prince of Wales, Cannock; Dormston Mill Theatre.
