I have taught yoga and relaxation classes in Birmingham for 18 years, primarily at MAC - the Midlands Arts Centre (now closed for refurbishment) - and for Birmingham City Council's Adult Education Department. My MAC class has now moved to the Moseley Arts Programme at Springfield College, Wake Green Road, Moseley, Birmingham (Tuesdays 7.45pm in term times) and has vacancies. I also teach at Queen Alexandra College, Harborne (Thursdays, 7pm) and Clock Tower, Harborne (Saturdays 10am). My classes are based on Pranayama Yoga as taught by Sunita Cabral, mainly in the Midlands in the 1960s. This is a relaxation package known as "the art of relaxation" comprising a mental relaxation (slipped second), breathing exercises, a sequence of gentle yoga postures and deep relaxations, all tied in with the basic philosophy of trying to do one thing at a time and live in the moment where possible. I have students from their teens to their 80s so everyone can enjoy it. It is non competitive and if learners simply wish to come along and lie down for 90 minutes to escape from the pressures of home or work that is fine. It is entirely up to the individual how much they do. If you are interested in classes please get in touch.

Yoga - Pranayama (Beginners and Improvers)

Pranayama Yoga is known as "the art of relaxation". It combines mental relaxation techniques with breathing exercises, a sequence of gentle stretches and deep relaxation to create a feeling of well being. Some basic yoga philosophy is also taught to help with coping with modern-day stressful situations.
