Sharon Reading MMus, PGDip, PGCert, BMus(Hons)

Sharon is an oboe, cor anglais, and period oboist who graduated from Birmingham Conservatoire in 2007 with an Mmus, PgDip, PgCert and a BMus(hons).

She reguarly performs in different ensembles throughout the country as a soloist, orchestral musician, and chamber musician. Throughout her time as an oboist, cor anglais player and period oboist, she has won many prestigious competitions and has won the chance to take part in proffessional orchestral schemes. Sharon teaches in ALL different styles, tailoring lessons to different requirements, needs and interests! She is a great believer in variety!!! Sharon works for Dudley Performing Arts as a woodwind (Oboe Specialist), wider opportunities, Early Years and Ensemble Tutor/Conductor. She undertakes weekly wider opportunities sessions teaching classes of 30 primary school children at a time, works for the music tots scheme teaching pre-school children and also rehearses and conducts a county junior band and many individual school bands. Sharon has lots of experience with special needs students.

Sharon usually follows the ABRSM syllabus but can also use the Trinity Guildhall syllabus if preferred. Sharon has a 100% pass rate and is fully CRB checked.
