Karate for Women in St Albans - first TWO lessons free
Special lessons for women only.
Beginners are very welcome at any time. Each lesson is tailored to the skill and experience of the class; beginning with a warm-up and stretching, we will practice basic techniques such as striking, punching, blocking an attack, and kicking (Kihon).
We will also learn "Kata", which is a sequence of techniques simulating defence against several opponents to a set pattern.
The lesson will conclude with warm down exercises.
Recommended clothing
The first few lessons a t-shirt and track suit bottoms are best; we train in bare feet. If you wish to train regularly, we can arrange for you to buy a karate suit (Gi).
Karate for Experienced Students
Red belts and above are welcome to come and train with Harpenden JKA Karate Club as experienced karateka. Each lesson includes kihon, kata, and kumite.
Several of our students started karate a long time ago and had a break in training of up to 15 years. Other students have trained with other associations but would like to experience JKA karate. All are welcome.
Beginners Karate Lessons
You will learn how to punch, defend, and kick. Each lesson begins with warm up and stretching, followed by practicing basic techniques. We finish with a "kata" which is a sequence of moves imagining defence against several opponents.
