Solway Morris are a mixed group performing traditional dances from the Cotswolds and the Welsh Borders with some other dances we have created and adapted for ourselves. Mummers plays are also performed at various times during the year. We perform at folk festivals, Morris weekends, private functions, carnivals, seasonal events, pubs, in fact almost anywhere! Practices are held every Tuesday at 8 pm at Waverton Village Hall, near Wigton in Cumbria, between October and April. The hall is on the A596 in the centre of the village just south of Wigton.

We are a friendly welcoming Morris side who happily accept whatever level of involvement you may wish to contribute. So if you fancy a different way of keeping fit, make a host of new friends, open the door to a wholly different world of music and dance, visit interesting places, then contact us. We welcome dancers and musicians, and full tuition will be given to beginners. Why not come along to one of our all day workshops? These are specially suited to beginners and have proved to be popular, they are free, and refreshments are available. Please visit our website for details of the next workshop.
