Hi all, I'm a musician and music teacher. Have been playing bass (4,5 & 6 string, fretted and fretless) for over 20 years, and teaching it for 15. Have taught in lots of music schools and universities (Salford Uni, ACM, ICMP, Basstech, Drumtech, Perth College, Brunel University) and teach students from total beginners to professional soloists.

If you click the links below, the top one goes to the front page of my site, the middle one to the page all about teaching, and the bottom one to the 'Beyond Bass Camp' website, which is a series of bass masterclasses I'm running in London/Birmingham.

Please do get in touch if you have any questions - you can email me via the site, post a comment on the blog there, or find me on twitter - I'm @solobasssteve.

masterclass lecturer, various colleges and universities

I've been giving music lectures and masterclasses in universities and colleges around the world for the last 10 years. Often talking about what I do in my solo career, or more general principles and ideas for bass players, I've also given masterclasses in looping, improvising and 'social media for musicians' - how to manage your career online.

Univerities and colleges include Salford Uni, ACM, ICMP, Perth College, UCA, Belmont University Nashville, as well as at music events from the National Music Show to the Detroit Bass Fest.

Online teaching offered

If you cancel a lesson within 48 hours of the lesson, I'll have to charge you for it unless we can move it to a mutually agreeable time within the same week - I try to be as helpful as possible in that respect. As a general rule, I charge for all lessons canceled within 24 hours.
