Sue Warne
Hi. I am Sue Warne and I am an art tutor based in pretty Constable Country on the Suffolk/Essex border.
I am convinced that every person has a work of art in them just waiting to be teased out, regardless of ability.
I have regular fun classes where students of all ages and all abilities paint together side by side, enjoying a great passtime and making new friends. My workshops are aimed at total beginners - in other words - if you've never held a brush before then you are my ideal person. With a simple follow my lead style of teaching, you simply watch what I do, follow along in your own way (under my guidance) and before you know it you've created a complete oil painting.
All equipment and materials are supplied for you and refreshments are served to you while you paint. All a student needs to do is turn up with a smile on their face and a dtermination to paint - leave the rest to me.
I am an Alexander Certified instructor, and obtained my certification from Alexander Art, based in the USA. Alexander Art was formed by the late Bill Alexander, who had a very popular TV show called 'The Magic of Oil Painting'. I am also Professional Associate of the SAA (Society for All Artists) which means I carry their endorsement as a tutor and demonstrator.
On my website you can see a wide range of images taken from my classes, showing students having fun and making paintings.
Despite being based on the Suffolk/Essex border, my students travel to my workshops from all over the UK. Some students have flown from as far afield as Lebanon, Norway, Portugal, France, Eire and Spain.
I have a self contained accommodation on site complete with wet room, kitchen, living area, bedroom and parking. Many students will stay for a week, a weekend or a mid week break and combine my scheduled workshops with perhaps a private lesson or two. It's an ideal location for your relaxed painting break in the heart of beautiful Constable Country and less than 10 miles from the site of John Constable's infamous haywain.

THE SMALL PRINT
Not everyone can make a class, so I offer the next best thing. You can teach yourself to paint, under my guidance, from the comfort of your own home. I have a number of tuitional DVD's which cover a wide range of subject matter. I also carry a huge range of painting equipment and materials, all of which are available online or from my classes.
