About Me

I have been a professional guitar teacher in the United States for 15 years, teaching both private lessons and university group classes. I teach any level in almost any style: blues, pop, rock, bluegrass, country, jazz, funk, world music- you name it! I also teach music theory, songwriting, and performance. I adapt my curriculum to the student, ranging from very structured to very relaxed. I encourage students to tell me about what they are most interested in learning.

My qualifications

I have a Bachelors and a Masters of Arts in Music, and am currently working on my PhD Dissertation in Musicology.
I developed the Ohio State University class guitar curriculum, and have also taught courses in music theory, history, and world music.
I have worked as a professional musician for almost two decades, working in the US, Europe, and Africa. You can hear some of my music at , or on my facebook musician's page just type 'Tom Beardslee' into the search bar.

Aimed at: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
Online teaching offered

Private lessons: €/$40 per hour at my home in Ixelles, €/$50 per hour at student’s home or office. There is a 15% discount if lessons are paid for by the month, which comes to €/$136 at my home/€/$170 at student’s home or office.
½ hour lessons are also available at €25 (€85 if paid monthly), though ½ hour lessons are only given at my home in Ixelles.
Group rates are available on request—please ask! This is a good solution for reducing prices and working with students who live far outside of Brussels.
