I'm a high-level amateur photographer; I'm comfortable with everything from film SLR's to medium and large format film cameras and a host of digital cameras. I do my own film darkroom work. I'm a Photoshop expert and know a lot about digital cameras. I study everything from minute technical details of cameras to scene composition. I can teach many basic, intermediate, and advanced photography techniques.

I can teach absolute beginners how to to choose the right point-and shoot camera for them, how to make prints off a digital camera, and what basic settings and tips will likely give them the best pictures.

For intermediates, I can teach all about different exposure modes and manual camera settings and tradeoffs between shutter speed, aperture, and ISO, depth of field, motion, lighting, proper exposure, flash use, all the various features of the camera, artistic composition, Photoshop techniques, computer color management, film scanning, macro, and more.

For advanced students, I can cover digital workflow, advanced end-to-end ICC-based profiling and color management, advanced Photoshop editing, digital restoration, and advanced techniques like combining multiple exposures, creating and tonemapping HDR (high dynamic range) images, focus stacking, panorama stitching, Ansel Adams' zone method, and other skills.

Aimed at: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.

I've only taught family and friends for free. I'm not sure about compensation; if you're interested, contact me and we'll work something out.
