I am a practicing photographer, with a strong interest in social issues.

I undertake commissions for individuals and organisations ranging from product photography to event coverage and social documentary. Photographs have featured in the national and regional press as well as commercial and community marketing resources.

I regularly run courses and workshops, across the North of England, for groups who want to get to grips with digital cameras. Much of my practice involves working with groups to help them to communicate and express themselves through the use of photography. I am currently working with groups in the fields of disability, mental health, homelessness and migration.

“An excellent course. As a relative beginner with a Canon EOS 600D I was keen to learn to move away from the automatic mode. The thought of ploughing through the manual filled me with dread - I needed to be shown what to do. Tony, the course leader, was brilliant. His friendly and supportive approach meant that the group members were able to assimilate the information and have the opportunity to practise what we had been shown. The small group size was a real bonus. I cannot recommend this course highly enough. I feel that I now have the confidence to use my camera in manual. I understand so much more, not only about the technical aspects of the camera, but about elements such as composition etc.”
