Sue has been working with textiles for nearly thirty years. A member of the Society for Designer Craftsmen, Sue teaches embroidery, dyeing, printing, felt making, fashion and stage costume making.
She offers courses for both drop-in enthusiasts and career textile craftspeople seeking qualifications. "I've taught all ages and skill levels from nursery age through secondary and upwards," she says.
For Sue, teaching is all about getting people to think in new ways. "A popular workshop I run is called 'Design- a game of chance'," she says. "We journey through the design process using a number of methods to remove the anxiety of decision-making and get people to 'go with the flow'. This has proved to be great fun - has resulted in some amazing designs."
