Therapeutic yoga
Barbara is a British Wheel of Yoga qualified teacher. Barbara teaches adults and children, she is a very intuitive and creative teacher and provides a bespoke and holistic style of yoga suitable for her students. Barbara also offers yoga therapy, utilising the fundamental elements of yoga, gravity, breath and movement she works with clients helping them resolve physical and emotional issues.
Barbara is particularly interested in women’s health in all stages of life and offers workshops in exploring the feminine energy of Shakti for practical healing. All these issues are addressed within the context of a yoga therapuetic understanding of feminine emotional life, lunar cycles and the play of the elements in the female body.
Barbara's mantra is 'your body is your teacher' and believes her role is simply to facilitate that learning process and help individuals develop their intuition and to learn to listen to their bodies.
Barbara offers classes (open, private & corporate), workshops and private appointments.
Barbara also offers body ball rolling therapy which is a form of fitness & massage rolled into one. Body Rolling goes far beyond random movement & stretch.
Body Ball Rolling re-educates & lengthens muscles, stimulates bone, creating positive changes in the body. It releases tension & energy blocks, creates space & freedom of movement within your body. It enables you to develop a deeper understanding of your body, improves posture, helps to let go of habitual patterning & can help prevent injuries. It can be particularly beneficial for specific conditions e.g. sciatica, back pain, frozen shoulder, sports injuries etc.
Body ball rolling works the way a hands-on practitioner works - only using a ball. The ball replaces the hand as it moves on muscles to lengthen them, dislodge tension & discomfort, increase blood flow, & promote healing. In a class a series of routines are used working the whole body. For specific physical conditions one-to-one tuition is recommended.
Barbara is also an HR, training and development specialist, Coach and Mentor and has been working in this field for a number of years. Barbara is particularly interested in 'wellbeing' and helping and supporting people to make the necessary changes to empower themselves in achieving their goals and maintaining a work life balance. Barbara runs workshops on managing stress, worklife balance and general wellbeing.
Barbara also offers Nordic walking sessions, this is a great activity and very sociable and if you like the outdoors and beautiful Norfol countryside and coast.
