Location:

I teach individuals or small groups to suit your needs within my own areas of knowledge and experience. These are fine art painting and drawing including basic and more advanced drawing, basic and more advanced painting. I offer nearly 20 years experience of practice, learning and teaching in fine art painting plus a very understanding ear. I teach by encouragement, tailored exercise, discussion and constructive criticism always leaving my students with something to do and think about. In the best exchanges there is a conversation about the making and meaning of art through the work of the student and that of the great artists I refer students to.

I balance teaching with making art so that my advice, practical suggestions and feedback is always based on a full engagement with the practice of painting and drawing and public exhibition.

WHERE:

I teach from home (or a fixed venue)
I travel to students

Rates:

Normally £40 per hour for first 2 hours then £35 per hour but open to negotiation depending on personal circumstances. I travel at 50p per mile round trip.
