How to Produce Dance Music
This is a perfect crash course masterclass in writing and producing any forms of dance music from dubstep, electro, hip hop to D'n'B.
In this course we will be using specifically using Logic Pro or Ableton and I will teach you how to produce a killer dance floor destroyer.
Some of the key things we’ll look at
- Beats – learn the tricks to get them tight and punchy.
- Bass - layer up basses with subs, learn how to program a variety of synths to get wobbles, reeses and warm fat electronic lines that sit nicely with the beats.
- Pads and layers – The icing on the cake. Use synths and samples to flesh out your loops.
- Arrangement – learn how to program and automate drops, sweeps and builds in all the right places.
- Compression and EQ – learn how to use dynamics and EQ to gel you mix professionally together.
I have been in the music industry for the last 10 years as a producer and have had many tracks released through my own label Splank Records as well as Hacienda Records. I have had music placed on Sony PSP’s Wipeout, and am currently signed to a L.A publisher which places my music on MTV programs such as Jersey Shore and America’s Best Dance Crew. Also for the last 4 years I have been teaching Logic and Ableton at SSR Manchester.
Lessons can be held at my Manchester city centre studio www.oscillatestudio.co.uk or home visits to your studio can be arranged.
