Learning a second language

We start with a warmer to get to know each other and introduce the basics of the language - name. nationality, hobbies, etc

1st stage: look at a piece of authentic reading to look at specific lexical set/ vocabulary ( pre-teach essential vocab with correct phonology) > ask general questions about the comprehension of text

2nd stage: devise series of written exercises for grasp of the comprehension of text.

3rd stage> conversation on topic of text > get student interested in topic > provide student with key vocabulary to help with being able to talk about topic.

These are the main stages for either beginner, intermediate or advanced.
The weight given to each stage will depend on the level.
