Having recently left a lecturing position, to spend more time with my young daughter, I'm now teaching beginners piano & guitar, music appreciation, lyric writing and songwriting. Currently working towards certified songwriter status in the USA, I've been lucky to achieve runner up position or been awarded 'honourable mentions' in several international songwriting contests.

Favourite Classical Composers: Chopin, Faure, Grechaninov & Prokofiev

Favourite Current Rock and Pop: James Morrison, Nickleback, David Gray, One Republic, David Cook, Taylor Swift, Fyffe Dangerfield, Daniel Merriweather, Daughtry and Snow Patrol.

Favourite 'Oldies': Barry Manilow, Shirley Bassey, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Billy Joel, Garth Brooks, Eagles, Journey, Bad English, Del Amitri and Jackson Browne.

Jaz has been teaching piano for 16 years, as well as providing music theory, composition and singing tuition. He also has extensive knowledge of classical piano repertoire and is a regular consultant for several performing pianists.
