Drawing from Life

£30 Make an enquiry

I provide students with essential tips and guidance for drawing from observation. Here we explore the potential power of using different mediums, charcoal, conte, pencil, line and wash to capture the essence of the subject, as well as ways to break down complex subject matter to essential forms. We will also look at composition, tonal values, and how different mark-making can add interest to your drawing.

Lessons can also be tailored to suit your needs, and can include drawing from landscape, portraiture and still life.

I also encourage looking at other artists work, and encourage students to visit national galleries and museums, as well as keeping up their own sketchbooks.

I am an experienced teacher and have taught adults of all abilities. I am also CRB checked and can help younger adults to improve their drawing skills for GCSE, A Level , and portfolio preparation.

My own work can be seen on my website www.debracollis.co.uk
