I teach Art to all ages and abilities.
This includes arts and crafts to younger children who enjoy the more messy, imaginative kind of creativity, as well as painting and drawing to adults who might also enjoy that. I have enabled students to gain confidence in using a variety of media such as oil painting, or pastel drawing and can offer support to those who want to enjoy painting as a leisure activity or who may wish to pursue more serious goals. I can assist with portfolio preparation and interview skills for entry to Fine Art courses. (As a qualified and experienced EFL teacher, this also may be useful for students whose first language is not English).

I am a graduate from Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art. I continue to work on my own creative practice, more recently in the mosaic medium although I continue to draw and work from life, as well as depict contemporary scenes. Please see my website for more images.

Introduction to Mosaics

Take time out to learn a versatile creative skill in an engrossing and enjoyable medium. Across the two day workshops, you will explore basic laying and cutting techniques of mosaic making, experiment with different materials and tiles, the power of different colour combinations, and finally grout your piece. No drawing or previous art experience is necessary as we will be working with simple motifs or decorative abstract patterns.

By the end of the session, you will have had the opportunity to complete a well-crafted and uniquely-designed, cherished mosaic.

Support is on hand by an experienced teacher and artist as well as a large assortment of tiles available for your use. Please enquire about ongoing classes.
