Contradictory materials and their attachments
Location:
Level: beginners, intermediate and advanced.Student will make an object that combines materials of contradictory qualities, paying special attention to the method of attaching one material to another. Qualities they need to explore are: natural and synthetic, opaque and transparent, smooth and textured, flexible and rigid, heavy and light.Glue will not be allowed as a form of attachment. String, wire, electric flex, tape, needle and thread etc can be used. In other words the student will realize that the attachment is an integral part of the sculpture.
