Music lessons for fun or exams
As A primary music specialist I offer relaxed and focused instrumental tuition.
I am both a performer and work in music education because I enjoy them both!
Does it make me a Jack of all trades? Possibly
Do the two inform each other? Undoubtedly. The variety of life, emotion and variety of communications encountered within education are limitless and these definitely inform my playing. Likewise, performing regularly means I can teach practical musicianship. My aim is to inspire as well as to instruct.
I began private teaching in 1998, both at home and in a local independent prep school. I have worked for Gloucestershire Music between 2000 and 2010 through whom I had the opportunity to work in many different schools, working instrumentally with groups ranging from one to thirty pupils.
My continuing professional development has included the staff training offered by Gloucestershire Music and independent courses such as the CT.ABRSM refresher course, group leadership workshops and attending music courses through the schools holidays both as a participant and leader.
