Art of Islamic Pattern

Practical studio based courses in Islamic Art. Discover how patterns of profound beauty and subtle complexity can be created from the simplest of means. Using the traditional tools of compass and straight edge students explore a range of classic Islamic designs and learn how to work creatively with this endlessly rich visual language. As well as learning design principles, students develop work using traditional techniques, including painting, gilding, ceramics, stone and plaster carving.
