Sounds Good Reading Program
Teaching these days can seem so standardised, formulaic and, dare I say it, unimaginative: designed to achieve exam passes, perform well for the league tables and tick boxes, rather than meet the needs of challenging pupils or struggling adult learners.
But there is another way… and you’ve just found it!
As you and I know only too well, the English Language is notoriously difficult to learn, but with the Sounds Good Reading System™ you will be able to help your child to read, or learn yourself, in a simple, structured and logical way, at your own pace.

Reading program
Since gaining a Post Graduate Certificate in Education specialising in literacy I have been working in education for nearly twenty years and am a member of The Tutor and Assessment Register for The Hampshire Dyslexia Association. My teaching experience covers all ages from 5 to adult in mainstream schools, special education and one-to-one tuition. The increasing demand for one-to-one tuition has also led me to set-up a small, specialist, individual tuition service.

Reading test
Standardised reading test to find reading age of pupils at home or at school.

Audiobooks
I am listening to various audio-books, what a fantastic way to increase the number of books I can 'read'. Now I find excuses to exercise so I can listen to the audiobook. I am listening to books I don't think I could ever read. e.g. Stephen Hawkings 'A briefer history of time' - I could never find enough quite and focus to read this but listening to it as I walk is perfect.

Essential reading - read this change your life
This is a great collection of books that are not just motivational but really life changing, with interesting perspectives and more.. as the name says Read This Change Your Life at www.readthischangeyourlife.com

Books I have reviewed
This link takes you to my reviews on Amazon. It lists books that I have read (Many good, some really bad) that I have read and written a review for.

Status Anxiety
This is a book about an almost universal anxiety that rarely gets mentioned directly: an anxiety about what others think of us; about whether we’re judged a success or a failure, a winner or a loser. This is a book about status anxiety.
We care about our status for a simple reason: because most people tend to be nice to us according to the amount of status we have (it is no coincidence that the first question we tend to be asked by new acquaintances is ‘ What do you do?’).
Unlimited Resources
Every member of School of Everything can add notes, links, videos, images, documents and other things to the site that help people learn or teach a particular subject. If you're learning, you can use it to keep track of your progress in your subjects and all the things that help you learn like useful websites or how-to videos.
If you're teaching, you can share useful resources and advice that you think will help people learn you subjects. You can tag each resource post with one or more subjects, and your posts will appear to other people looking for those subjects.
Don't be shy, say hello. We'd love to hear from you.
Stay safe
