My name is Adam, and I am a full-time professional musician, specialising in the Trombone and Piano, located in the Southside of Glasgow.
Whilst growing up in Liverpool, I began to learn the trombone at the age of 8, joining many ensembles and winning the Warrington young Musician of the Year in 2002. At the age of 14 I began to have piano lessons, and soon afterwards accepted the post of resident pianist at the Hillcrest Hotel, Liverpool.
In 2004 I was accepted into the Royal College of Music, London, where, in 2008, I gained a 2:1 for my Bachelor of Music Degree with Honours.
In May of 2009 I accepted the position of Principal Trombone with the Santiago Philharmonic Orchestra in Chile, where I worked for 2 years until I decided to return to the UK.
Upon my return home, I began to work across the UK, as both a performer and a tutor, Including working with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, BBC Radio 1, Duffy, plus many others.
As a tutor, I have taught many private students, mainly upon the piano. My youngest pupil was 5-year-old Grace, who was a natural at reading music, and my oldest pupil was 68-year-old John who loved to learn boogie-woogie piano!
I have also worked, as both a brass and piano tutor, with Hounslow Music Service, Newham Academy of Music, Royal College of Music Sparks Education Program, and Kensington & Chelsea Music Service

THE SMALL PRINT

I offer a free 20-minute consultation lesson to potential students. This gives both of us to get a chance to meet, and it also allows the pupil to see whether they can realistically see themselves taking up the instrument, giving you the chance to ask any questions you may have.

I would generally only recommend that only the younger student take the 30-minute lessons, and even then only for a couple of weeks, moving onto a weekly hour-long lesson. An hour-long lesson enables me to really connect with the child through games, challenges, fun-time and whilst learning to play our pieces.

I normally expect students to pay for lessons in blocks of 5, and in advance of those 5 lessons. This works better for both the student and teacher alike, as you don’t need to worry about bringing the right amount of cash each week.

Except in exceptional circumstances, I would expect a lesson cancellation to be made more than 24 hours in advance of the lesson, otherwise no refund will be made for that lesson.

Please get in-touch to arrange a lesson time. I have availability during the week, both during work hours, and after school hours, and also on a Saturday Morning.
